11V Logistics is a Veteran-owned small business. We contract exclusively with FedEx Ground out of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
In 2022, 11V tractors burned about 50,000 gallons of diesel. In 2023 that number increased to 72,000 gallons of diesel.
That's about 2.7 million pounds of carbon dioxide our fleet has released into the air in the communities where we operate in just two years.
We think that's too much. So we're going to do something about it.
11V is working toward a full electric conversion of our fleet. Yes, a fully electric operation.
In 2023 we won a grant from the Maryland Energy Administration to get started on that goal before the end of 2024.
But electric Class 8 tractors are more than twice the cost of a new diesel tractor. That means we're looking at every grant and alternative funding source we can find to further help underwrite the cost of conversion.

As we work toward our fully electric operation, we're looking for other ways to make 11V more sustainable.
For starters, we're an almost completely paperless business. Contracts, employee handbooks, invoices, paychecks – we aim to do it all digitally.
We also purchase re-treaded tires when replacing non-drive tires and send our own used tires to be re-treaded. And we use idle timers to decrease carbon emissions.
